To become a member of Langley Immanuel Christian Reformed Church is a possibility for anyone who can publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. 

Membership is actually a little more complicated than this.  So the following considerations may be helpful.

Membership by Infant Baptism: Our church believes that infants and children become members through baptism. This type of membership has some limitations including non-participation in Communion and Congregational voting.

Membership through Adult Baptism: Young adults and adults, who have not been baptized before, and who are able to articulate their faith, become members through baptism and profession of faith. This baptism brings with it full membership priveleges.

Membership by Profession of Faith: Those who are members through infant baptism, are encouraged to make a public profession of their faith. This entitles members to participate in Communion. The church's education program for the Youth and/or the Pastor's class prepares those who want to become a "professing member."

Membership assumes agreement with the Church's basic teachings. See the preceding link "church teachings." 

Langley Immanuel CRC recognizes the baptism of all Protestant Christian churches, including the Baptism of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. 

Membership assumes responsibility to assist the church in financial support. Students for instance, are encouraged to give a small amount, and adults with substantial incomes are assumed to give about $1750.00 per year per person/income. Financial support is a private matter and is not public knowledge.
