Bulletin Announcements as of June 20, 2011:
1. The eight members of the Immanuel Search Committee want to thank you for your confidence in us. Please continually pray for us as we seek to serve the church in this capacity. We've had four meetings now and are working hard on completing a first phase of our search process: a "self study" in terms of our congregation, our past, present, and future. Shortly we hope to distribute a questionnaire to our congregation. This will allow you to describe to us your expectations in our next pastor.
2. We have had 4 meetings over the past 2 months. Recently council approved our mandate and our budget for potential expenses. The work of a church profile is well underway, a draft congregational questionnaire is being fine-tuned, and a financial compensation coparison of local congregations is also being studied. During the summer months, work will be done on a draft job description for our future pastor. Our next meeting is scheduled for the second half of August, where we hope to finalize recommendations for our church council. The committee requests your continual prayer support, praying that God would be the center of all that we do.
3. For those who are interested in reading the book that we as a Search Committee have read, it is titled, "When the Word Leads Your Pastoral Search: Biblical Principles & Practices To Guide Your Search". It is written by Chris Brauns and published by Moody Publishers.
4. October 7, 2011: The committee has reached the point where your input is crucial to completing our church profile. Each regularly attending teenager and confessing member is urgently requested to complete a (confidential and anonymous) questionnaire available on the Internet using the following link: (This has now been completed)
5. November 27, 2011 Please check your mailslot this morning for the results of the congregational questionnaire that was completed recently. Further information on the questionnaire results will be given at the congregational meeting on December 5th.
We have placed an ad for the position of senior pastor in The Banner (the CRC's publication). The ad is scheduled to be printed in the January edition. We are also asking any members who have any potential pastor suggestions to submit those names in writing to the committee. This can be done by submitting a written letter or emailing a confidential email address: Immanuel.search.committee@gmail.com. Please include in your letter reasons for recommending the pastor.
